Hide Annoying Posts on Facebook
Unfortunately, most of us have them…those annoying facebookers that often sound like they are bragging or posting things ad nauseam. In many cases, these friends on our social network are people that we really like and do not wish to “unfriend”, but we simply don’t wish to see the constant posts (ex. it’s mid November and one friend bragged how they had ¾ of their Christmas shopping and wrapping done….that’s great, but the rest of us really don’t want to read about how you are a domestic overachiever.) Many times, I long for being able to see many of these out of town friends, rather than just read the mundane everyday statuses.
I’d really love to hear how they are and offer my support. So what do you do to manage your facebook and enjoy your facebook experience more? Read on and I will share how to hide certain posts, while still keeping these friends on your facebook friends list.
Instructions
-
Step 1
Log on to your facebook account. Click on your “Home” tab at the top left of the social networking
page. You will then see your list of recent status updates and posts from people on your friends list. -
Step 2
Scroll through the list of recent status updates and find one from the person whose posts you wish to hide. If the person hasn’t posted that day or recently and, therefore, isn’t on the list of recent status updates and posts, you will need to wait until you see one of their posts to hide. (This likely won’t be long, given the history here.) -
Step 3
Once you find a post from the person, hover your cursor over the recent post. As you hover, you will see the word “Hide” in bold appear to the right hand side of their post. Click on the word “Hide” in bold. You have now hidden that person’s posts from your Status feed, so you will not see their posts each day. -
Step 4
Visit the hidden friend’s wall occasionally when you feel like it and read about what they have been up to.
Write to them on their wall occasionally or through facebook’s e-mail application. Check out some of their recent posts, such as pictures of their family. Enjoy a facebook relationship with this friend that meets your needs.
Tips & Warnings
Less is sometimes more. Share accomplishments and photos occasionally. Don’t be the facebooker that friends want to “hide”.
