The government said revenue Value Added Tax (VAT) in 2010 will increase to Rp 269.5 trillion, as the impact of the application of the Asean-China Free Trade Agreement (AC-FTA).
The increase will be driven by the increased VAT imports almost doubled this year.
Finance Minister Sri Mulyani said the overall impact of the implementation of the AC-FTA will affect tax revenues.
“From the side will have a significant effect pepajakan. Reduction of import duties as a result of the AC-FTA imports will offset the VAT increase,” he said in a working meeting with the House of Representatives Commission VI on the House MPR / DPR, Senayan, Jakarta, Wednesday (20/1/2010) .
Until the end of the year 2010, total tax revenue is estimated to reach Rp 269.5 trillion, whereas the previous year before only Rp 214.3 trillion.
VAT in the country this year is projected to Rp 167.4 trillion, up 2009 over last year of Rp 148.1 trillion. While the import VAT in 2010 is estimated Rp 102.2 trillion, up nearly two times higher than in 2009 amounting to Rp 66.3 trillion
“The increase in import VAT which is almost twice this is a combination of volume and price,” he said.
In addition, according to Sri Mulyani, economic growth is higher than the previous year and reaslisasi trade in 2010 is quite good-will help the VAT revenue.
