Netbook Processors Present New Generation Beginning in January 2010
Jakarta – Intel has formally introduced a new line of Atom processors with integrated graphics capabilities in it. Platform codenamed Pine Trail is going to attend starting in January 2010.
Pine Trail is a code name for Intel’s newer processors are designed to handle a variety of computer applications minor. The latest generation of Intel Atom that was soon pinned comes with several innovations.
The latest Intel platforms using Intel ® Atom ™, N450, and Intel ® Express Chipset for NM10 netbook. As for the basic level of desktop PCs using the Intel ® Atom ™ D410 or D510 that has two core, which is then paired with the Intel ® Express Chipset NM10.
At Pine Trail system, all parts included with the chipset platform, packaged in a smaller size because of the integration process and 45nm production systems. In addition to smaller system designs are also more dense, so the size of devices using this system would be more concise practical.
“Intel Atom processor has opened a new category in the computing world for one and a half years back and we believe that this development will continue with devices such as netbooks and basic level of desktop PCs built in accordance with fundamental computing activities and patterns of Internet use,” said Mooly Eden, vice president and general manager of Intel’s PC Client Group, through a written statement received ITGazine, Monday, (21/12/2009).
One of the most interesting features in this new platform is memory and graphics controller integrated in the CPU, the first time in the industry for x86-based chips. This means that there are only two of the CPU chip and chipset. And left lawas configuration that uses three chips: the CPU, chipset, and I / O controller hub.
Thus, the platform is claimed to Pine Trail will have a lower power consumption, which make it more energy efficient, cost and environmentally friendly. Netbook with Pine Trail system is claimed by Intel will be more efficient power about 20 percent from the previous Atom system.
